Salford City Stadium renamed as AJ Bell Stadium
Investment platform AJ Bell has secured a nine-year stadium naming rights partnership with Sale Sharks Rugby Club. The deal will see what was previously called Salford City Stadium re-branded and re-named AJ Bell Stadium.
Founded in Manchester in 1995, AJ Bell has rapidly grown into one of the UK’s largest providers of low-cost, online investment platforms and stockbroker services. To support its future growth ambitions, the company has begun a sponsorship programme in recent months, with deals announced to sponsor Lancashire County Cricket Club and the World Squash Championship.
Meanwhile, Aviva Premiership Rugby club Sale Sharks, whose first home game of the season will be played at AJ Bell Stadium on Friday night against Newcastle Falcons, had been thoroughly scouting UK businesses over recent months to find a partner that is aligned with the club’s values and ambitions for progression.
Sale Sharks are entering their second season in the purpose-built venue and, having signed a long term deal to play at the stadium last summer, the club are confident that this major sponsorship agreement will help them develop success on and off the pitch over the coming years.
AJ Bell sees the partnership as integral to its plans for sustained growth as it looks to continue to build brand awareness. The regional and national exposure that Sale Sharks and the AJ Bell Stadium offer were key in the company’s decision making. The all-year-round nature of the stadium will offer a fantastic community engagement platform as well, with the stadium also home to the newly re-branded Salford Red Devils and with news emerging recently that the majority of Manchester United U-21 fixtures will be played at the venue.

AJ Bell and Sale Sharks will be delighted to provide support to help further raise the awareness of such a deserving charity.”
