Planned roadworks

Please note that there are a number of large scale roadworks and improvement programmes planned in the A57 region over the coming year that may affect your travel arrangements.

The A57 road improvement programme is a major project designed to reduce congestion and journey times and includes a brand new road, giving alternative access routes to the stadium. In the short term, there is also a new ‘traffic flow’ system being planned along the A57 at peak times and on event days at the stadium (see leaflet in right hand box).

In addition to these planned projects, United Utilities are also upgrading their sewers and water pipes in the area and National Grid are upgrading their gas pipes.

Details of all planned works are updated weekly at www.portsalford.co.uk – we advise you to check this website regularly for details of any works that may affect your journey.
