Access

The stadium is fully compliant with the requirements of Disability Discrimination Act and the Guide to Facilities for Disabled Spectators in Stadia. These ensure full accessibility for disabled spectators to all areas of the stadium.

Parking

The site is located adjacent to the M60 Barton Bridge with a junction situated along A57 Liverpool Road. With 600 car parking spaces, it is straightforward to visit the stadium by car. Disabled parking spaces are located within close proximity to the stadium and community facilities. Dropped kerbs are provided from the designated disabled car parking spaces onto the main stadium external concourse.

A drop off facility is also available at the main West Stand.

Main facilities

The main entrance is provided to the West Stand with level access. The club shop, community concession and private concession are all at the main entrance and access is either through the main entrance or the other entrances along the front. This access also includes the player, press and hospitality facilities.

All access has been designed to allow for ease of movement for wheelchair users and those with prams.

The reception desk on the ground floor and all concourse kiosks have a drop down countertop.

An induction loop is provided within the reception, kiosks and all bars, for people with impaired hearing.

Signage has taken account of accessible sign guidelines.

Disabled access for spectators

External and internal circulation, access and facilities are based on the requirements of both Building Regulations Part M and BS 8300.

For spectator seating there is level or sloped access to wheelchair spaces throughout the pitch side stands in the stadium. There are also dedicated areas for wheelchair spectators in all four stands and high level seating is provided through the stadium for wheelchair spectators.

Each toilet block has a cubicle for disabled users and male WCs also include a urinal at a lower level.

Hospitality facilities

The main hospitality function room is on the second floor of the main West Stand and is accessible by two public lifts. The hospitality function room has its own bathroom facilities on that level that are wheelchair accessible. The circulation area along the third floor has been designed to accommodate wheelchair users and the second floor bars are both DDA compliant, with drop down counter bar tops.

On the third floor, hospitality boxes and associated bars are situated to the centre of the stand, providing high level views to the pitch and access is provided via two public lifts.

Boxes have external executive viewing with facilities in each one for a wheelchair spectator.

Catering staff are trained on the needs of all customers and will also ensure that a designated senior member of staff/management will monitor and manage the provision of service to disabled guests, particularly ease of access for the ordering of food and drink and other services.
